Arvies - Good Sam Chapter

Missouri Good Sam -- Area 6 -- St. Louis

CAMP CHOICE GUIDELINES

Reservations excepted
We try to camp in a group so its important to us that we can make reservations ahead to keep everyone together in one general area of the campground.

Pet friendly
Many in our chapter bring along the associate (and family) members, their dogs and cats.  So it is important that the campsites allow pets without extra charges.

Cost
We try to stay in campgrounds where the rates are reasonable for the location.

Within 150 miles of St. Louis City
We try to keep the price of fuel down and give ourselves more time
at the campout by reducing travel distance and time.
150 miles does encompass more area than one may think.
Here are some of the points on that circle.
South on I55 to Cape Girardeau, MO (120 Mile)
West on 70 to HWY 54 outside of Columbia MO (125 mile)
SW on 44 to Rolla, MO (107 Mile)
North on 63 to Hannibal, MO (117 mile)
NE on 55 to Springfield IL (97 mile)
East on 70 to Effingham IL (102 mile)
East on 64 to Mount Vernon, IL (79 mile)
East on 50 to Salem IL (96 Mile)

Indoor meeting area
A location protected from the cold, wind, wet, etc.  for use in
having our meetings and pot-luck meals.
We don't often use these areas as long as weather permits.
Most of time we have these gatherings around the weekend's
assistant wagonmaster's campsite.

Acceptable campsites
Full service hook-ups preferred with Electric/water sites acceptable.
Sites large enough for our rigs some pull-throughs - a plus.

Staff
Friendly and accommodating staff members can be a deciding factor.

General attributes
Pools, Shade trees, nice scenic quality, quiet, clean and well kept grounds.
Restroom and Showers available for those that may need these as well.
